Supporting Local, Always
We take pride in sourcing our fabrics, paper, trims, and tools from South African businesses. Even when a certain material isn’t produced locally, we choose to buy it from local suppliers—never importing directly ourselves. This way, we’re not only reducing our environmental footprint but also supporting fellow small businesses and workshops across the country.
Some of Our Favourite Materials
One material close to our heart is the iconic Da Gama Textiles, especially the well-loved Three Cats and Kwa Nobantu ranges. We also proudly work with handmade paper, sourced from local workshops that create beautiful, eco-conscious paper using traditional methods. These papers bring a special soul to our journals and notebooks—each sheet is a small work of art.
Waste Not, Want Everything
Much of what we use is rescued or recycled—off-cuts, scraps, trims, and leftovers that would otherwise go to waste. For us, these aren’t “less than” materials—they are full of potential. Like patching a memory quilt or painting with unexpected colours, we believe beauty often lies in the imperfect and the overlooked.
Looking Forward – Uplifting Women, Sharing Skills
Our bigger dream is to keep expanding. Not just in what we make, but in who we make it with. We are working toward building a wider network of women artists and makers—sharing skills, opening up income opportunities, and creating together in a way that uplifts communities.
