Iron-On Instructions for Patches

  • Find a clean, flat surface on your item where you want to place the patch
  • Position the patch and secure it with heat tape or a small dab of glue stick to keep it in place
  • Set your iron to the linen/cotton setting (approximately 180°C) — no steam
  • Turn your garment or bag inside out, or manoeuvre it so you can iron from the inside
  • Place a thin cotton cloth over the area to protect your fabric and iron from scorching
    (Not necessary for 100% cotton or denim – note: stretch denim is not cotton)
  • Press the iron firmly onto the area where the patch sits and hold for 8–10 seconds
  • Gently move the iron in small motions to secure the edges of the patch — you should feel the raised edge underneath
  • Never iron directly on the front of the patch
  • Turn the item back and check that all edges are properly adhered
